Xavier Giannoli writes and directs this drama set in 1920s Paris. Marguerite Dumont (Catherine Frot) is a wealthy woman who is madly passionate about music and a lover of opera. For years Marguerite has sung for her friends and husband Georges (André Marcon) who have all pretended to enjoy her terrible out-of-tune voice. However, when she expresses a wish to perform for a greater public audience, the troubles begin and it seems the truth must be revealed to preserve Marguerite's dignity, even if it means shattering her illusion.
