Pair of crime stories based in the city of Miami; 'Miami Vice' (2006) is Michael Mann's Brooding big-screen adaptation of the classic 1980s television crime drama. Undercover Miami-Dade police detectives Sonny Crockett (Colin Farrell) and Rico Tubbs (Jamie Foxx) are summoned to help out on an FBI undercover operation gone wrong. Infiltrating a dangerous web of international drug dealers somehow linked to a home-grown Neo Nazi group, Crockett and Tubbs pose as experienced criminals able to transport goods anywhere in the world. But as they dig deeper into the criminal underworld, Tubbs worries that the mission will be compromised as Crockett finds himself falling for drug dealer Jesus Montoya's (Luis Tosar) girlfriend, Isabella (Gong Li). 'Scarface' (1983) is a re-make of the 1932 Howard Hawks classic that sees up-and-coming gangster Tony Montana (Al Pacino) arriving in Miami as a Cuban refugee. With his friend Manny (Stephen Bauer), Tony carries out a hit on a politician, earning him the gratitude of drug baron Frank Lopez (Robert Loggia). Tony rises rapidly in the 'organization', but courts disaster when he becomes involved with Lopez' cocaine-addicted wife, Elvira (Michelle Pfeiffer).
