'Nobuyuki Tsujii at White Nights' captures the pianist at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg in July 2012 as he plays music by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov and Shostakovich, as well as his own piece for the victims of the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. He is joined by soprano Olga Sergeyeva and bass Yuri Vorobiev. Valery Gergiev conducts the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra. In 'Nobuyuki Tsujii Live at Carnegie Hall' Tsujii performs works by, among others, Beethoven, Liszt and Chopin, recorded in New York in 2011. The documentary 'Touching the Sound', directed by Peter Rosen, explores the life and career of the Japanese musician. Blind from birth, Nobuyuki learned to play piano by ear and has gone on to achieve success around the world, winning multiple awards. The film includes performance footage at various locations including the Carnegie Hall and the tsunami-devastated Tohoku.
