Triple-bill of romantic dramas. In 'Sleepless in Seattle' (1993), Sam Baldwin (Tom Hanks) has lost his wife to cancer and, left to bring up his son alone, tries to make a new start by moving to Seattle. His son turns him into a radio heartthrob, however, when he makes an on-air appeal to potential partners for his grief-stricken father. Annie Reed (Meg Ryan), despite being happily betrothed, answers the call, and romance blossoms between the two people, despite the fact that they live on different sides of the country. In 'Maid in Manhattan' (2002), Jennifer Lopez stars as Marisa Ventura, a single mother who works as a maid in one of New York's top hotels, but has aspirations to do better. Holding her back is her mother (Priscilla Lopez), who thinks she should accept who and what she is and leave it at that. However, after a case of mistaken identity Marisa finds herself being pursued by Chris Matthew (Ralph Fiennes) who is staying at the hotel and is running for the Senate, as a Republican. Egged on by her friends at the hotel and by her son, Marisa decides to accept a date with the dashing bachelor but finds their paths are definitely not the same and she returns to her New York suburb, having lost her man and job. But can love still conquer the social divide? Finally, in 'French Kiss' (1995), Kate (Meg Ryan) is shocked to discover that her fiancé has fallen in love with another woman during a business trip to Paris and resolves to win him back. Arriving in Paris, she has a chance encounter with Luc (Kevin Kline), an annoying but sexy Frenchman who is searching for a missing necklace. Fate conspires to throw the pair together, and they go on an adventure across France, searching for Kate's fiancé and Luc's necklace, where Luc turns out to be more than he admits.
