Documentarian Errol Morris takes us back to the late 1970s when the British tabloid press jumped all over the "sex-in-chains" case of an American beauty queen who came to England to kidnap her Mormon boyfriend. Joyce McKinney is a gloriously gushing unreliable witness who comes across as Dolly Parton with severe psychological problems while the red top hacks don't do a great deal to dissuade us from the opinion that they are a bunch of sleazy wrong 'uns. The story's coda featuring the cloning of her dog booger is barely believable... but all too true.
