Classic Western directed by Allan Dwan and starring John Payne, Ronald Reagan and Rhonda Fleming. Prolific gambler Tennessee (Payne) sets himself up in the gold rush town of Sandy Bar in California at Elizabeth Farnham (Fleming)'s saloon. After Tennessee emerges victorious from a high-stakes game of poker the loser sends a hired killer to eliminate him but before the gunslinger can fulfil his contract he is killed by Cowpoke (Reagan), a headstrong prospector. When Tennessee discovers that Cowpoke is set to marry a known gold-digger however, he intervenes with the aim of preventing her from sinking her hooks into Cowpoke. But this, along with Tennessee being framed for murder, causes a rift between the two men.
