Collection of four 1930s British dramas. 'Flood Tide' (1934) follows life on the Thames Estuary for lock-keeper's son Ted Salter (Leslie Hatton) as he decides whether to marry bargee Captain Bill Buckett (George Carney)'s daughter Betty (Janice Adair). In the musical 'Big Ben Calling' (1935) a group of like-minded friends start a pirate radio station but face being shut down and reprimanded by the police. 'The Lash' (1934) follows the testing relationship of a self-made millionaire Bronson Haughton (Lyn Harding) and his disappointing son Arthur (John Mills). Feeling let down by his lazy and foolhardy son, Bronson gives Arthur a beating with a horsewhip. Will it do anything to alter his behaviour or repair their relationship? The crime drama 'The Captain's Table' (1936) takes place upon a cruise ship where a musician finds himself accused of killing his wife. Will the passengers and crew solve the murder mystery before the ship docks?
