Award-winning made-for-TV drama with Cicely Tyson portraying the life of a fictional 110-year-old African-American woman. During the struggles of the civil rights movement, journalist Quentin Lerner (Michael Murphy), researching an idea for a book, travels to the deep south to interview the woman whose life began in slavery. Her story, told in flashback, reflects the many painful episodes of her life, but also those moments that helped to re-affirm her faith in humanity.
