All three films in the action thriller franchise. In 'The Marine' (2006), John Cena stars as John Triton, an injured U.S. Marine who returns home from duty only to have his wife kidnapped by a ruthless criminal. Robert Patrick stars as the villainous Rome, who is more than willing to kill if it means staying one step ahead of the law. With nothing left to lose and enough training to take down a small army, the hard-fighting Triton sets out to rescue his wife, and ensure that the psychotic Rome receives a painful taste of justice. In the sequel 'The Marine 2' (2009), while on leave, Marine sniper Joe Linwood (Ted DiBiase) takes his wife Robin (Lara Cox) on holiday to a luxurious five-star resort on the South Seas. But their relaxing break comes to an abrupt end when a terrorist group seizes control of the resort and takes the billionaire owner and several guests - including Robin - hostage. Can Joe use his Marine training to free the hostages and save the day? In 'The Marine 3' (2013), returning to his hometown on leave, Sergeant Jake Carter (Mike Mizanin) learns that his sister has been abducted by a group of radical extremists. As he sets out to track down those responsible, Carter discovers that the group's deranged leader (Neal McDonough) is in the process of implementing a murderous terrorist attack.
