Xavier Beauvois directs and co-writes this French comedy drama inspired by true events. Set in 1977 in Vevey, on Lake Geneva, the film follows immigrant Eddy (Benoît Poelvoorde), who, after being released from prison, goes to stay with his friend Osman (Roschdy Zem) and his young daughter Samira (Séli Gmach), agreeing to help look after the girl while her mother is in hospital. The friends struggle to make ends meet so when Charlie Chaplin's death is announced on Christmas Day, Eddy comes up with a plan to steal Chaplin's coffin and hold it for ransom. Will they be able to pull off such a ludicrous idea?
