Academy Award-nominated documentary following the events of the Egyptian Revolution. In January 2011, thousands of Egyptian people occupied Cairo's Tahrir Square and began an uprising which led to the forced resignation of their president Hosni Mubarak and the implementation of drastic changes to the way the nation is ruled. Although the effects of the uprising are still being felt throughout Egypt and the wider Arab world, this film focuses on events during 2011 and 2012 and follows a number of the protesters themselves while they fight for their vision of democracy. The film received an Oscar nomination for Best Documentary.
