Veda Ataturk Film Poster

Turkish biopic based on the life and times of Turkey's first president, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. The film begins with his childhood days in Thessaloniki in the late 1800s, takes in his stint as a commanding officer in the Battle of Gallipoli during the First World War, and shows him transforming into the leader, first of the organised national resistance movement - which led to the War of Independence - and eventually of the Republic, which was formed in 1923. The films also explores Ataturk's relationships with his wife Latife (Ezgi Mola) and with his distant cousin Fikriye (Ozge Ozpirincci). Ataturk is played in the various stages of his life by Burhan Guven, Fikret Kagan Olcay and Bartunc Akbaba.
