A double bill of World War 2 documentaries in colour. 'Britain at War in Colour' uses colour film footage and extracts from letters and diaries to describe what life was like in wartime Britain. Events featured include a royal visit to Warrington, the Battle of Britain, Moseley's Blackshirts marching on the Embankment, British POWs being liberated in Burma, and the D-Day landings. Also included is the classic wartime documentary 'The Memphis Belle' (1943), directed by Hollywood legend William Wyler ('Roman Holiday', 'Ben Hur') and John Thaw narrates. Whilst 'America at War in Colour' is a four-part documentary TV series looking at the USA's involvement in World War II. Features interviews with people who were involved, rare colour footage of the war, and narration by Patrick MacNee. The episodes included are: 'Slow to Anger: 1919-1942', 'Battlefront: 1942-1944', 'Wrath: D-Day to VE-Day', and 'Triumph: The Pacific, 1942-1945'.
