Season 2 (1996)

'Home' sees Hathaway and Jeanie try to find a new home for a schizophrenic student. 'A Miracle Happens Here' has the hospital visited by someone who looks very much like Father Christmas. 'Dead of Winter' finds Jen filing for divorce and the ER staff treating a mass of abandoned children. In 'True Lies' Benton asks Jeanie to accompany him when he gets an invitation to dinner at Vucelich's. 'It's Not Easy Being Greene' has Carol look after some worms and Benton discover some surprising information about Vucelich. 'The Right Thing' sees Carter peddling gossip about an affair between Susan and Mark. 'Baby Shower' finds the ER swamped with an influx of pregnant mothers. 'The Healers' has the hospital staff struggling to deal with the victims of a devastating fire. 'The Match Game' sees Ross and Benton argue over a professional decision. 'A Shift in the Night' finds Mark stretched to the limit on a busy night shift. In 'Fire in the Belly' Mark tries to come to terms with his new bachelor status and asks a woman out on a date. 'Fevers of Unknown Origin' has Susan try to forget her personal problems by throwing herself into her work. 'Take These Broken Wings' sees Al Boulet receive the results of a HIV test. And 'John Carter, M.D.' finds Carter approaching his graduation day.

Season 3 (1997)

The entire third season of the popular medical drama. In 'Dr Carter, I Presume', Jeanie (Gloria Reuben) discovers she is HIV Positive, but decides not to disclose her status to the hospital. 'Let the Games Begin' finds Jeanie undergoing aggressive treatment for HIV. Meanwhile, the attraction is growing between Greene (Anthony Edwards) and Lewis (Sherry Stringfield). In 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell', Carter (Noah Wyle) gets in trouble when he exaggerates his patient's condition so that he can carry out an operation. 'Last Call' sees Ross (George Clooney) experience a personal tragedy, while Hathaway (Julianna Marguiles) considers enrolling in medical school. 'Ghosts' sees Hathaway and Ross working in a mobile health unit in the city's poorest neighbourhoods on a stormy Hallowe'en night. In 'Fear of Flying', Lewis confronts her fear of flying in order to travel in a rescue helicopter. 'No Brain, No Gain' finds Benton (Eriq La Salle) keeping vigil on a critically ill baby - whose condition is the result of his own surgical error. In 'Union Station', Jeanie's husband finally signs their divorce papers. 'Ask Me No Questions, I'll Tell You No Lies' finds Greene learning Jeanie's secret after sneaking a peek at her confidential files. In 'Homeless for the Holidays', Ross befriends a homeless teenager and invites her to accompany him to the Ukrainian Christmas celebrations at the Hathaways'. In 'Night Shift', Benton, Carter and Doyle perform surgery in vain on a man who fell in front of a subway train - who turns out to be someone closer to home than they imagined. 'Post Mortem' sees Jeanie start dating a doctor who specialises in infectious diseases. In 'Fortune's Fools', Hathaway is suspended from the hospital after admitting to a newspaper reporter that she made a fatal mistake. 'Who's Appy Now?' sees Ross treating a cystic fibrosis patient who wants to die - but is too young to sign the 'Do Not Resuscuitate' order. In 'The Long Way Around', Hathaway finds herself relying on her medical skills to save lives after she is taken hostage along with a store full of customers. 'Faith' sees Hathaway reinstated at the hospital. In 'Tribes', Greene is accused of racism after he treats a white gunshot victim before a black man with the same injuries. 'You Bet Your Life' sees Carter being placed on probation after undermining the judgement of his superiors. 'Calling Dr Hathaway' finds Hathaway scoring well in her medical school admissions test - but realising she enjoys her work as a nurse too much to change her career. In 'Random Acts', Greene gets beaten up in the hospital toilets by an unknown assailant. 'Make a Wish' finds Ross giving Hathaway a surprise birthday party - at her place. Finally, in 'One More for the Road', Greene goes on a rampage while Ross and Hathaway share their first kiss.
