All six episodes from the first series of Simon Nye's popular sitcom, starring Martin Clunes and a soon-to-be-replaced Harry Enfield. In 'Intruders', Gary (Clunes) falls out with his girlfriend, while his flatmate Dermot (Harry Enfield) falls for their new neighbour. 'The Bet' sees Gary and Dermot engage in a chest contest. 'Alarms and Setbacks' has the two flatmates vying for the affections of Deborah (Leslie Ash). In 'Animals', Gary is surprised when his girlfriend Dorothy (Caroline Quentin) readily accepts his suggestion of an open relationship. 'Sex and Violence' finds Dermot making yet another attempt to woo Deborah, this time with a romantic candelight dinner. Finally, in 'My Brilliant Career', the flatmates encounter trouble at work, with Dermot getting the sack, and Gary preparing to make an uncomfortable announcement.

Tony regrets joining Deborah's keep-fit class; Gary goes in search of a 24-hour chemist; and the boys are horrified when Deborah announces she is planning to sell up and go travelling.
Tony sneaks into Deborah's flat while she is out; Gary suspects Dorothy is having an affair; and Tony is forced to choose between his new-found love and his collection of adult magazines.
Tony returns from a holiday sporting an ill-advised beard; he develops a sudden interest in astrology; and his sordid imagination works overtime when Deborah's friend visits.
Gary decides to make an honest woman of Dorothy; and he worries that he has not slept with enough women; while Deborah gets passionate with Tony during a romantic weekend in a caravan.
