Season 1 (1969)

The first series of the comedy sitcom was shown between February and April 1969. It starred Reg Varney as Stan, Bob Grant as Jack, Cicely Courtneidge as Mum, Stephen Lewis as Blakey, Anna Karen as Olive, and Michael Robbins as Arthur. Stan is scheduled onto a new early morning service in The Early Shift, Olive gets a job as a clippie in The New Conductor, and Stan complains of tummy-ache in Bus Driver's Stomach.

Season 2 (1969)

Another three episodes from the second series of the hit LWT sitcom. In 'Aunt Maud' a visit from Stan's aunt - not to mention her huge dog - disrupts Stan's schedule. 'Late Again' sees Stan late for work due to affairs of the heart. 'Bon Voyage' has Stan lose his uniform to a tramp when he goes sun-bathing.

Season 3 (1970)

Stan and Jack caused further mayhem in 13 episodes broadcast between January and March 1970 for series three. A new clippie hides a terrible secret in The Inspector's Niece, Jack convinces Stan to start brewing beer in Brew It Yourself, and everyone suspects the worst when Mum uses kiss-proof lipstick in Mum's Last Fling.

Season 4 (1971)

Ronald Wolfe and Ronald Chesney wrote a further 13 episodes for series four, originally broadcast between November 1970 and February 1971. Though normally filmed in colour, due to industrial action, seven episodes were recorded in black and white. Arthur is thrown out by Olive in The Other Woman, Stan and Jack are forced to work over Christmas in Christmas Duty, and Jack is ready with plenty of good advice when Stan injures his foot in The Injury.

Season 5 (1971)

Bob Grant and Stephen Lewis took on some of the writing duties in series 5, penning two out of the 15 episodes broadcast between September and December 1971. A new nurse at the depot lodges with the Butlers in The New Nurse, Stan tries to prove his strength by picking up his girlfriend with one hand in The Strain, and Arthur is attracted to a clippie in A Thin Time.

Season 6 (1972)

Bob Grant, Stephen Lewis, George Layton and Jonathan Lynn, the director of Hollywood film My Cousin Vinny, were responsible for writing seven episodes airing between February 1972 and April 1972. The series featured the last appearance of Arthur, played by Michael Robbins. A lit cigarette causes a fire in the paint shop in No Smoke Without Fire, Arthur forgets his wedding anniversary in Stan's Worst Day, and Mum wins a holiday for two in The Prize.

Season 7 (1973)

Writing duties are shared again in the final series of 13 episodes originally broadcast between February and May 1973. Stan, played by Reg Varney, left the series halfway through the run. The final episode, number 69 in the series, was broadcast by ITV on May 6, 1973. Olive must go to work in The Perfect Clippie, Mum and Olive become mail order agents in The Ticket Machine, and Stan applies for a job away from Luxton in Goodbye Stan.
