Mark and Jeremy enjoy their final days of freedom before Sophie's baby is born, determined to ignore the fact that one of them is the father. Mark makes the most of his extra wealth and power after being promoted, spending money on the flat, trying to get Jeremy a job, and pursuing company IT girl Dobby - but his plans go awry during a routine fire drill. Starring Robert Webb and David Mitchell.
Mark makes a final effort to impress Dobby, and Jeremy tries to get together with Elena, a Russian immigrant who loves music and poetry. As the duo woo their girlfriends, they are aware that Sophie will soon reveal which of them is the father of her child - news that will change the lives of both men for ever.
Mark discovers Elena's guilty secret, but cannot decide whether he should share it with Jeremy, who is clearly very happy with her. Meanwhile, the offer of a business partnership helps him see Alan Johnson in a new light, and it takes the inadvertent involvement of Big Suze to bring matters to a head.
Jeremy believes he has thought of a way to win back Elena's affections as her marriage to Gail approaches. Elsewhere, Mark learns to drive so he can take Sophie to the hospital when she goes into labour, and worries about Jeff becoming a potential father figure to his son.
